Without more info on your hardware can't help you more.
Getting the machine to move the right distance and the right direction is the first thing to do.

You can either calculate it, or you can measure it.
From that you can then calculate how many steps of the motor it takes to move an axis by 1 machine unit ( either 1 mm or 1")
That is your SCALE figure in your .ini file
Knowing that one pulley is 20 tooth is not useful, unless you know how many teeth the corresponding pulley has, to work out the ratio.
It would be unusual to have a quadruple start lead screw, but you can soon test it by seeing how far an axis moves for one complete turn.
Then you can add the multi-stepping factor of the driver. If you have high gearing you do not want this figure high as well, or you will generate a huge number of steps to get nowhere.

I might be confusing some things here. so i have configured the axis to move the proper distance, my concern was after i config this i noticed the movement was slow, not too slow (confused this would effect the feed rate)
so in the config settings is it all about getting the correct settings so the movement on the axis moves the correct distance, or is it about the speed the motor moves, if i am correct it is about the measurement of the movement.
then in g code the the feed rate can be adjusted to speed up the machine???? this is were i am confused or mixing the two topics.

Please attach your configs ( just zip the entire folder) then we will know what we are talking about.

What are your measurements and all your ratios?
You can get the axis to move the correct distance, but still have completely wrong figures.
You have to get both right.
