Trying to get motors to spin

I received an error when trying to test the X,Y, and Z drives in StepConf. the message reads:

File"usr/lib/pymodules/python 2.7/stepconf/pages.py", line 602, in update_axis_params self.a.update_axis_test()

File "usr/bin/stepconf" line 1451, in update_axis_test halrun.flush()

IO Error:[Errno 32] Broken pipe.

Is this a hardware or a software problem? Any suggestions on where I need to look?

open a terminal and run stepconf from there by entering 'stepconf' (no quotes) then return
try the test again, if it errors it may print some info to the terminal that can help us debug the problem.

also what version of linuxcnc are you using?

I closed down the application and then re-ran the StepConf wizard. I'm not sure what I did, but MY MOTORS SPIN! In all 3 axes! This may seem trivial, but I've been trying off and on to get my control box to work for 7 years.

Thanks so much for responding. I'll definietely be back if I have more issues.

This is GREAT!
