Io error step conf

Io error step conf was created by phoenix
I am trying to set up step conf
Pin 1 to charge pump and then x y z step and dir respectively others are set to unused
But it shows an error also machine is not working
Error name IOerror:[Erno32] broken pipe

can you tell us
What version of linuxcnc you installed
what System
Ubuntu
Mint
Whyyzy
Debian 9 stretch
Hard to find a Start point at your Questions

Unfortunately we need more context information to help you.
A broken pipe error usually comes when testing in stepconf - is that what you were doing?
Have you tried it, running linuxcnc normally?

you only can run one linuxcnc
not the Latency test and linuxcnc
neighter a terminal test and linuxcnc or latency
it is so easy from the DVD start point you do to many things
Straigt forward is the best to go
DEBIAN Wheezy< so we Guess you are on 2.7.14
PLEASE Start Linuxcnc on the Left Top BAR
CHOOS SIM AXIS mm
if this is correct 2.7.14 report or it is 2.7.11
in Terminal please rport output of kernal running
uname -a
More infos we need to get best advice
not the Latency test and linuxcnc
neighter a terminal test and linuxcnc or latency
it is so easy from the DVD start point you do to many things
