I have a mach 3 Bob and I want to trigger the relay to switch On and Off. How to configure stepper config

not clear what is your problem
The Start of the Realy is M3 Stop M5 if the Pin 17 is connected to Relay and in linuxcnc to Spindle on

you nee to connect the Torch Trigger 2 Pole from the Plasma to the Relai

Plasma Torch signal OUT PinA to relay -> relay to plasma pinB
CHECK if You short the Plasma Torch conector Handignight firers the Torch
ther are usaly 5-24V on it

i have set the parallel port to pin 17 spindle on, is it possible to draw a sketch for me as i am very very new to this.

this realy depends on what torch you use
offen the plasma got a simple plug 2pins out to the torch switch

take off the plug

wire PLUG LEFT to the Relay comen
and relay NO to the Plug Right pin


thats all

then start linuxcnc yur mashine
reference the mashine
and goto the MDI (F5)
put S100 m3 into it and enter or execute
the torch will firer
M5 will stop it

BE CARFULL IT IS A REAL HOT FIRE

Maybe, not connect pin 17 of the board.

You need the relais output on the side of the board... Near the 12-24v supply output's.

This is not the problem, just use the step config wizard.

To explain a little bit more :
Pin 17 give's only 0v (off) or 5v (on). It makes no closed contact for starting a plasma torch, like a relais.
Therefor, jou need the relais output on the side. This blue relais is in the board circuit also connected to pin 17.
I think you heared the relais clicking already. So it has worked already.
