Jog Wheel in StepConf

Hi

I'm using EMC 2.2.4.3 / 3 Axis, all end-switches connected on one pin, external emergency stop, probe..
I wan't to connect a physical Jog Wheel with 2 signals.
I can supply via PC. Signals 5V A/B will probably work fine with parport.

I saw that new SteConf got a lot of more signals but no jog wheel.

When I saw Spindel A /B signals I was wondering if I could easyly generate according for jog wheel
or if there is a way to "missuse" the spindle ones.

THX Mike

P.S.
I looked into EMC doc before, but the example I found was only for MESA..... nothing for parport.

Hi Mike,

Sometimes you just gotta know where to look in the docs.

Realy ,nicely hidden ;-()

1. I was searching with expresions like "jog Wheel" never came to the idea that "Jog Pendant" is also used.
Ok, I'm not native english.

2. Do you think an ENHANCEMENT of StepConf is easy?

2 Easy for some, hard for others, impossible for some :)

I would say that it is simpler to just add things like the MPG to your custom.hal file than try and get the author of stepconf to add something like MPG to it.

I looked ofer the code example....
It's not exactly what I want

My idea is to use only 2 HW signals for A / B the rest should be "maneuvered" on Axis screen as usual.
