Trying for three days to setup LinuxCNC on 3 Axis router that works correctly in Mach3.
Kernel version: Linux LinuxCNC 4.9.0-13-rt-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Debian 4.9.228-1 (2020-07-05) x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux with LinuxCNC Version 2.8.1-96-g86b4f1 and LINUXCNC - 2.8.1-100-g808409424 both fail to work with limit and home switches.
.
No amount of redos of the Stepconf wizard get home switches or limit switches to work correctly. Best I've seen is the Z home switch actually work reliably. The X & Y limit switches occasionally work if configured as both-x or both-y, but if they are configured as home switches they NEVER work. Remember this machine with the same parallel port BOB works with Mach3... I have gotten the same results on 2 intel and 2 AMD machines all using the same hard drive. Anyone have any idea what is wrong?

What is not working
This seems very low MAX_VELOCITY = 0.00913461538462 about 0.5" min.
Do the motors move the machine

The Max Velocity is likely low as I wasn't paying attention to it, just trying to get the machine to home properly.
* * * I have solved to issue by going back to see why Mach3 worked * * *
In Mach3 I had setup the home and limit switches with their auto config routine and my BOB documentation does NOT match the pin numbers of my card. When I put the proper pin numbers in LinuxCNC I'm sure it will work as well.

Did you try importing your working Mach3 XML configuration file into Stepconfig?
