Mix and match drivers? was created by jeoslislo
Can two different drivers/motors types be used in the same setup?
For example, can a servo motor with a gecko 320 driver be used on one axis and a stepper motor with a gecko 302v driver used on another? The StepConf wizard only allows for one type. The default values for the 320 are step time:3500 ns, step space:500 ns while the 302v default values are step time 1000 ns, step space:2000 ns. Can a hybrid "other" drive be specified with step time:3500 ns, step space:2000 ns to come up with a suitable compromise?
Thanks, Jim

I think you could work that out if you just set the step and step space to the slowest drive number of the two different drives. So if the timing is slow enough for the slowest drive the faster drive is sure to keep up without problems.

That sounds like a plan. I'll give it a try and report the results.
