Homing accuracy question was created by Linuxcnc
Hi I am using a Mesa board 7i96s for a milling machine. The machine has a proximity switch NPN type and step motors (open loop) for the homing sequence. The machine does not have problems finding the home position. It travels to the homing sensor and has a hard stop. In the manual, I found the homing sequence and configuration paragraphs. As I understand, the machine can reach the home position more precisely if I apply the required settings. I have tried different settings, but nothing works. I want to have the following sequence settings:1. Move to the home sensor - using home search velocity.2. When the sensor gets a signal - move back 0.5 of an inch.3. Return to the sensor - using the home latch velocity.4. When the sensor gets a signal - move back 0.25 of an inch.5. Move to the home sensor - using the home final velocity. If that is possible for the current equipment, please help. Also, I attached the screenshots of the current settings. Please let me know what I should change to have work that describes the above sequence. Thank you.

Try setting the latch direction to opposite.
