I'm a newbie here. Trying to get my first machine up and running.
I've been through step config, and when I test the axes every thing seems t be working splendidly.
Then I take the next step, and try to run EMC2.
I get caught on the splash page, and my mouse goes dead so that I can't click on anything. Looks like axis is up and runnin behind the splash page, but I can't get to it. Computer frozen. The only way that I know to get things moving again is to hardware reboot.
Any idea what is going on here?
Thanks so much,
Bill

Try one of the sample configs (stepper/stepper_in.ini or stepper/stepper_mm.ini).
Let us know if that works..
Also, what is the output from a latency test? (on the first page of stepconf there's an option to run it).
Regards,
Alex

I tried Shereline 3 axis inch and it froze the same way.
Then I tried booting off the CD and using the Sherline 3 axis inch config. Still frozen, though this time not with the splash page up.
Now I am downloading the 6.06 version of EMC2 to see if that works better.
Jitter test come in at about 12000 ns. I've got 15000ns in the config just to be safe.
Thanks,
Bill

I guess I will just move forward with this older version until someone can guide me forward on resolving Open GL issues.
Is this a bug that I should report?
Thanks,
Bill

Try a different video driver like vesa.
Make sure desktop effects is turned off.
