Parport Address was created by alczikk
I am trying to get started with EMC2. I use a Dell GX240 pc. The BIOS gives 378h as the parallel port address. When I try to use Stepconf to configure I get an error: Parport error bad port address '378h'.When I use 0x0378 as the address, Stepconf works, but when I try to test an axis, the motor doesn't turn. Is it OK to use the address in the form 0x0378, or does that cause a disconnect between the software and hardware? Are the output signals actually reaching the parallel port? Thanks for your help.

You might have your step and direction pins backward or not have the drive enable or charge pump if your driver has one.
What kind of drive is it?
