I have this above but does the DOM require a driver as the linuxcnc iso does not see it a a drive ?


That's odd. Is it plugged in to a SATA port? In that case the system shouldn't even know that it isn't a HDD.

Does it show up in the BIOS screen?

Thanks for the rapid response Andy.
Yes it is plugged into a SATA port and does have 5V going to it. It does warm up so is getting power.
It is not shown in the bios. Perhaps it is faulty :(

The board runs fine with another SSD

If the BIOS can't see it, then I would suspect a fault.

Assuming that you are managing to boot from USB or similar, is there any sign of it in /dev/ ?

I have booted from my SSD and there is no sign of it in /dev So I will try and send it back.

sudo fdisk -l
there it will show all drives even if not formatted or not functional.
If it does not show there, send it back
