I take it you backed up the /etc/initramfs/conf.d/resume file ?
Delete the file with the resume.save and run the command again, there should be no quotation marks used in the file

When using clonezilla, i use it only for disk to disk. That is 8 min.
Keep in mind, cloning can not be done to a smaller target disk.
I am interested in network cloning.

Important: no relevant data can be located at the block numbers over the number of blocks the target drive has, that will not work for sure.
Several times i used to write an image of a 256GB SSD to a 120GB SSD, but the amount of data was 85GB and all of it was located at the beginning of the drive. I also did from 128GB SSD to 16GB USB over 20 times, all working, only 8.9GB of data.

Yes it can be done, requires disabling checking for the size of the target, -icds to the command line or selecting that in the advanced mode of the graphical interface.Keep in mind, cloning can not be done to a smaller target disk.
