The N3350 is only a dual core CPU where the J4105 is quad.
You don't need the 2nd ethernet port for anything with LinuxCNC unless you want to do modbus over TCP or something, but if you want to do anything with an ethernet port outside of LinuxCNC and your using a Mesa ethernet card......well then youd need a 2nd port.

I'm using the 7I96 Ethernet Mesa card. One ethernet port is dedicated purely to running that mesa board. The other port is plugged into the home internet so that I can cruise the internet etc. I didn't want to burn a USB in order to get wifi as I've utilized them as shown below:
1) usb 485 to Spindle
2) usb touch panel for display
3) usb wireless keyboard and mouse
4) front panel usb bulkhead for attaching usb sticks on the outside of the control box
Ideally I would have gotten a touch screen with a USB hub in it and moved my mouse and keyboard to it and that would have freed up a usb to use with a wifi dongle.
So in this case the second ethernet port is useful.
