Hi all,
I would like to know, what hardware specs is recommended for reliably running LinuxCNC without any restrictions.
  • CPU
  • RAM
  • GPU
Also if there is anything else useful (maybe two ethernet interfaces?) to keep an eye on.

Thanks!

Used Dell or HP or Fujitsu usually work nicely, but do keep in mind, only Enterprise ones are good, anything from Home or Office category will most probably not work.
If you want the spec for a new and very expensive PC, i got one last year, works perfectly for everything, but the price was eyewatering. It still is.

I hot some used dell with i5 6500,16GB RAM and integrated graphics. Latency is around 60000. But. You can inspire me with your machine for sure and let me know what latency do you get on it.

Thanks

Do have a look around that topic, plenty of other good and bad PC's there.
And, this PC had graphic card changed to Radeon RX 6800XT OC and processor to Ryzen 7 3700X, writing this on thit PC, it is on for over a year, mining, youtube, 80 to 200 Firefox tabs open, FreeCAD, slicers, 3D printers, it is my main PC.
BTW, just for curiosity, it does all this while the processor is forced (by me) to stay at 2.2GHz as i do not like to hear the watercooler fans ramping up. :) Probably can be seen on screenshots.
