Minor Annoyance -- One Terminal Icon Added After Each Reboot

Y'all,

I've got bigger issues to deal with (to be featured in another post), but in the meantime, I'd like to fix whatever is causing the accumulation of terminal icons, the number of which is incremented by one with each reboot.  I'm rebooting a lot while diagnosing my setup, so I'm getting a lot of these and am getting tired of having to click "quit" for each one!  Is there some setting that will prevent this?

(running 2.8.4 if it matters)

Thank you! I must not have used the right combination of keywords in looking for the solution.

I had bigger issues at the time but I solved this altogether by upgrading to Bullsye and subsequently Bookworm.....
