Advantech PCM 9362 freze when opening latency-test was created by Sekai
Hi.
I have mini pc that i tried to install linuxcnc ( latest version) but horrible latency above 100000.
So i put Debian 12 and install kernal RTai 5.4.258 and linux cnc 2.9.3.
All is good, latency test is like max 24000 with default settings in the bios ( remove everything from the bios i got about 16000 after 2 hours).
The problem sometime the mini pc freeze when running tests (latency-test) so i have to restart.
I thought the bios settings was the culprit so i restore bios to default but the same.
Should i use i different distro or kernel?

Use this ISO
www.linuxcnc.org/iso/linuxcnc-2.7.14-wheezy.iso
Boot the PC from it and run the tests in Live mode, meaning do not install, see if it hangs.

Considering the Atom N450 is a single core CPU I'm unsure how isolating a core that doesn't exist would work.
You may get better latency if you disable Hyperthreading.
I'm assuming you are going to use the parallel port.

I used last night the iso from youre post
www.forum.linuxcnc.org/9-installing-linu...-rtai-and-rt?start=0
Linux Mint 19.2 with the bios settings off (single core) RTai
Run it like 2 hours and it never froze.
And the latency was about 12000

2. You linked the wrong ISO location for the same ISO
That can and will absolutely raise suspicion.

That would really require delving into the data sheets regarding the gpios, and how and if the Linuxcnc kernel exposed them, they might be available via sysfs. I have doubts about whether they would be realtime capable.
May libgpiod, but not at all sure.
