Forgot:
The point was that you can create a button in the gui and connect it to an MDI command in hal.
[HALUI]
MDI_COMMAND = M129

Here is my last version.
I removed everything I could not get working and added a bit more functionality to the context menu (right click in the gCode list)
[edit]
Update:
- Shows now the current file path above the GCode window
- Creates the Axes CheckBoxes and PositionLabels dynamically from the active axes information
- Fixed the Arc move functionality
Note: Still untested on a deb install.

shortly before was the moment for me to try out the current LinuxCNC_2.9.2-amd64.hybrid.iso
I have already noticed great progress on some important parts that I like to use, thank you very much to everyone who made it!
I think the idea with the Axis Position Logger is great, saving the file didn't work for me yet?
I would like a combined solution with qtvcp cam-align!

LCNC Debian 12
file save dialog opens, I can navigate, name, SAVE, but no file is written, the file dialog is simply opened again?

try adding '.ngc' to the file name.
I'll see if I can get it to do that automatically, thanks.

I tried exactly that, 'test01.ngc' but a file is never written for me?
