Unhoming was created by grump
Hi Guys.
I wonder if you can help me with this one or maybe I could suggest it is built in to future editions.
As I get older and the arthritis gets worse I find mouse control harder and am having difficulty in unhoming.
Partly due to the way the submenu appears but mainly down to my incompetence.
I find myself increasingly using keyboard shortcuts to setup I can happily push the X,Y,Z,A, and Home keys to home the axis and would love to do same with unhoming maybe ALT and home for each axis and ALT end for all.
Does that make sense or is there already a way to do it I am unaware of?

Looking forward to reading your comments, cheers.

Press and hold ALT and press "M", release all, press "U", that will get you to the "unhome all", or use arrows to chose the axis.
Hope this helps
Tom

Print the Axis Quick Reference and keep it near by. Right click on the image and save it then print it.

I had looked at that till I was blue in the face and still not seen any reference to unhoming.
I know I am getting old but surely I ain't going blind and stupid too, am I?
Don't answer that.

I had a feeling there would already be a method but for the life of me I could not find any reference to it anywhere.
Many thanks, can't wait t try it now.

I see that Alt F, Alt M, Alt V is missing from the Quick Reference. I'll see if I can finger out how to add them.

Edit: figured it out and added that to the Quick Reference.

Thanks for that John but it's not the shortcut I was looking for.
Thanks Tommy, while that works I was rather hoping for a little better.
I can push x home to home x, it seemed logical to me that x end would unhome but instead it touches off.
Am I being pedantic?
Is there a place I can edit what my keys do in the software?
I have not delved into the workings Linuxcnc but am not frightened to, I can always reinstall if goes pearsheped.
Don't ya just love Linux?

I did John that's why I was thanking Tommy.
Maybe my keyboard is different although I don't know why it should be, pushin Alt M only opens up the Machine menu U does nothing.
I still have to scroll down to unhoming by using the arrow keys, better and I am pleased to use it but still not quite shortcut enough to overjoy me.

I just checked again, it does work for me on both computers i have on right now.
Press and hold ALT and press "M", release all, press "U" (do not press or hold ALT) , that will get you to the "unhome all", or use arrows to chose the axis.
Just to be sure, i underlined the hold and release, when pressing "U" nothing should be pressed, and also check if you have "caps lock" on, it should be off (there is also a led in the upper right of the keyboard, the middle one should be off).
With "caps lock" none of the keyboard short cuts work, except those combined with ALT.
Regards,
Tom
