How do you setup WNMG0604 ?
Orientation 2 at 45deg
Front angle ? 45+40 = 85deg ?
Backangle ? 45 - 40 = 5deg ?
Diam 0.4
Is this what I need do do?

Dia = 0.8 (04 is radius)
The angles might take some experiment, but are not (at the moment) important.
If and when I put G71 and G72 in, then they may start to matter.

Looking forward to have G71/G72
Here a useful tool for all of us Lathe users, spreadsheet for inserts to show proper tip on screen.
Cheers

Dear All,
I am trying to create a tool table for 4 tools which are currently in my 'manual' turret so I can use them for initial testing purposes.
However, I don't get things to work as I would expect them to work, hence my question in this thread.
What I did so far:
1 load 4 tools in my tool turrent
2 home the Z&X axis
3 select "tool touch off to fixture"
4 select tool 1: T01 M6 G43 (and move tool1 in position on the turret)
5 select Z axis in "manual control window"
6 move tool to the fixture (chuck face) with a 10mm rod between the chuck face and the tool tip
7 select "tool touch off"set position to +10.00mm
then repeat from step 4 onwards to configure the next 3 tools
To start using the tools in a 'production run"
1 select "tool touch off to fixture"
2 set G54 (the coordinate system that uses the tool table)
3 T01 M6
4 move tool to the 'material end' with a 10mm rod between the material and the tool tip
5 select "touch off" set position to +10.00mm and select coordinate system P1 G54
Unfortunately this procedure seems not ok as I do get values in the tooltable
but when going to the production step, the tooltable is not being used.
EG
T01 M6
G01 Z20 F100 (tool tip moves nicely to 20mm away from the material end)
T02 M6
G01 Z20 F100 (tool tip does not move to 20mm away but stays at the same location as the turrent/X/Z axis don't move while I expect they would to adjust for the different tool offset.
Any one any idea what I'm doing wrong or is there a clear procedure how to do this?
I relied on this page so far:
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/lathe/lathe-user.html
linuxcnc.org/docs/html/gcode/g-code.html
Thanks in advance

T01 M6 G43 You should always charge the tool with compensaciĆ³n. Not T01 M6.

Hi All,
Thanks.
Indeed T0* M6 G43 does the job while running 'production mode'
Now the system uses the tool table to recognize the individual tool offsets
Best regards,
Thanks.

you need your post processor " if you are using cam" to output the g43 after a tool change iirc
