I snagged promas "plasma" portion from the ini and changed the "axis" to "joint" and am now encountering an error in which, as best I can tell, the z axis is overdefined.

Grotius, are you saying this code can be used instead of modifying the existing proma setup? If so, that would solve probably all my problems. Is this as simple and creating a hal file?

I figured that that easiest route to install a THC function was to modify the Toma file into the pncconf for my machine. You posted some code that will replace this function but I have no context from which to derive wiring; and little knowledge in the way of how to make these things work.
Some of the qualities of the Toma system is that it completely replaces the need for any Z commands and instead uses a macro to initiate: float switch+offset, torch, torch height and anti-dive; all through a simple vcp.
If there is a way for me to incorporate these functions into my machine config, without modifying disparate formats, that would be fantastic.
