OK it worked when I run lcnc, with the changes applied to custom.hal. Why it didn't work in terminal with halcmd?

I would say because you were still using "motion." "spindle.0.xxx" doesn't use "motion." first.

if you took the "motion." part off this command it would probably work

You also did not load motion (emcmot)
(you only loaded the VFD module so only VFD pins are available)

AFAIK spindle is still part of motion regardless of any name changes

If you want motion pins (which include all the axis.... joint.... and spindle.... pins) then you need to load the motion module

I have currently the same problem...
I tried:

Code:

loadusr -Wn vfd hy_vfd -n vfd -d /dev/ttyUSB1 -p none -r 4800

net spindle-cmd-rpm-abs => vfd.speed-command
net spindle-cw motion.spindle.0.forward => vfd.spindle-forward
net spindle-ccw motion.spindle.0.reverse => vfd.spindle-reverse
net on motion.spindle.0.on => vfd.spindle-on

but it wouldn't work like this. Could you explain, how the motion module has to be loaded in custom.hal ?
