Classic Ladder crashing was created by spumco
Just tried editing my ladder and after clicking on one of the rungs the ladder interface - all windows - closed.
LCNC did not close or show an error.
Restarted PC and tried again watching the terminal. Crapped out again after I made & saved a few changes, no warning.
Anyone see 'stack smashing detected' before?

A bit more info...
Was able to create, edit & save another ladder section. Ladder was working as expected and interacting with LCNC.
The crash was duplicated when I clicked in the section display on a variable comparison box. Could click anywhere in any of the sections... but the second I clicked on the comparison box all the ladder windows disappeared.
If I open the editor I can edit the comparison box... but clicking on it with the editor closed fails.
No 'stack smashing detected' terminal error messages were generated after the first crash. All subsequent crashes the terminal was silent.

Same crash just happened on my LCNC VM installation (under Win10).
Exactly the same behavior, different kernel. Both using XFCE.
Start LCNC, open Ladder Editor. Click on a variable box in the rung display...
All ladder windows close, no activity in the terminal, and CL can't be reopened without re-starting LCNC.
Linux lathe 6.1.0-13-amd64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC Debian 6.1.55-1 (2023-09-29) x86_64 GNU/Linux
