Are 52kgf steppers with encoders.

This machine is only to machining glass polishing wheels, that is so soft, not for metals , the rapids not very important , i use steppers with encoders and following error by linux cnc , becouse the material is a mix of grubber and abrasive , and is constant that x axis lock with the dirt , so if this happen linux cnc stop with a alarm.
Because the velocity limit of parallel port to read encoders , the rapid z is 2000mm/min max too , i think whit no encoder i could 3000 to 4000mm/min

This is another lathe for the same company this video is machining the polishing wheels , (no security iet only tests)

This is another Lathe that i make with 100kgf steppers and 25x10mm ballscrew 6000mm/min this for metals !!!

In that case, have you considered using a Mesa 5i25 in place of the parallel port? That has the same physical layout as a parallel port, but can count encoders and make pulses at Mhz rather than kHz, costs about $80 and is fully supported by LinuxCNC.
