PCW, Chris, Andy,
I have got my BLDC based machine moving with the 7i85spx2.xml however:
The 7i84 does not show up in the configuration page of pncconf, but appears to be connecting when I start LCNC (again, don't know what LEDs mean but, CR8 = Yellow on CR7 = Green flashing CR6 = off CR2 = Yellow on). Assuming this means that I am successfully connected / communicating, how do I setup the hal file to use the 7i84? Has anyone written a tutorial about how to set the strings in the file to use the sserial based line of boards??
Thanks,
Bogie

The manual way is to start linuxcnc and then in a terminal window type:
halcmd show pin > pinlist
The pinlist file will show all the available pins, including the 7I84 inputs and outputs,
and can be used as a 'donor' file for copy/pasting into your hal file
halcmd show pin > pinlist
