Hallo,

Please find attached the connection diagram of my VFD,

This browser does not support PDFs. Please download the PDF to view it: Download PDF

My spindle does 6000 rpm.
I have 10 V on PIN 3, PIN 6 and PIN 8

Giving in MDI
S3000 M3
I get 5 V on PIN2 and 10V on PIN 6 (TB4)
No voltage on PIN 7 of TB4 (thats OK)

Now I do a
S3000 M4
I get 5 V on PIN2 and 10V on PIN 6 (TB4)
No voltage on PIN 7 of TB4 (thats NOT OK)

So spindle does not change direction, as the reverse signal does not arrive at the VFD.

Whatching with halshow:
hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spindir
hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spinena
hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spinout
shows that spindir does get TRUE if I start spindle with M4

Any ides what I am making wrong?

Norbert

P.S. Firmware on 7i76E is hm2/7i76/7i76e_7i76x1_7i74x1D.BIT, flashed about 2 Month ago

Can you check nothing connected except a Ohmmeter across pins 7 and 8 ( + to 8 )

if the meter reading does not change with hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spindir state
I would suspect a bad OPTO

Note that you cannot use the screws on the top of the connectors
to measure unless the screws are tight

Hallo PCW,

checked without the plug and nothing connected:

hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spindir = True = about 15 k Ohm
hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spindir = False = M Ohm, out of range of my Multimeter

So something is changing.

I checked also

hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spinena = True = about 15 k Ohm
hm2_7i76e.0.7i76.0.0.spinena = False = M Ohm, out of range of my Multimeter

So they are behaving the same, but one does work, not the other :(

Solved!!!

As it did work without the plug, I measured again with the plug an tighten screws.
Not working.

I took an unused plug from TB6 with the same connections

All OK!!!!

I have never had a brocken plug, but that seems to be the secret.
At least it is working now!

Thanks from Norbert for pushing me in the right direction.

Sorry for the bad plug
I don't actually think I've seen one before
Glad you are up and running again
