Norbert, Jan, Benb Rodw,
You guys are my heros! The wiring diagram and labels have helped so so much in building with the 7i76 I can't thank you guys enough. Anybody know how to get these onto the mesa website linked with the boards? That would be super useful as a first time user of mesa cards and linuxcnc.

I agree - I just call the materials shared on this thread "The Manual". Honestly, I'd have stood zero chance of successfully wiring my system without the examples provided. The OEM doc gave me more questions than answers - it contains technical facts, didn't really express things in concrete terms. Picking apart Norbert's config taught me in days what would have otherwise required weeks of frustrating cross-referencing all over the web. It's been a much-appreciated lifesaver.

Hello!
I'm new in MESA and LinuxCNC.
Can anybody tell me which bit file to use for this schematics?
I wont use serial 7i73 and will use a STEP/DIR servo motor for spindle.
I have only this bit files without other board number:
7i76e_7i76x3D
7i76e_7i76x1pD
7i76e_7i76x1D
7i76e_7i76x1_Dpl
Thanks!
Daniel

You should not need to change the firmware unless you have parallel daughterboards
(or you want the Plasma specialized 7i76e_xxpl firmware)

You saying, that the needed firmware already on the board?
The standard, which I can use with the schematics from this topic?
(it will be a lathe, step/dir close-loop stepper on ZX and a step/dir close-loop srervo on the spindle + some functions from the schematics)

The wiring diagram is very helpful!
Simple questions. How to activate TB5 and TB6 outputs? I connected the estop to pin 4 (TB6). LinuxCNC shows error at startup:
24v connected to TB1 (24V - pin 5, GND - pin 8). 5V connected. One green LED lights up near the RJ45.
Mesa 7i76e is new, ordered from eusurplus.com/
Jumpers: W4, W6 - up, W7, W12 - down.
Attempting to flash the firmware does not change anything
In attachment hal, ini and log files.
Similar problem is described here:

The error reffers to an analogue pin, is Mesa set to mode 1 or 2?
