This is a large plasma table retrofit with multi heads and such.
On the server AMPS the following pins had connections to the old controller via the CN1.
5. v-Ref
6. SG
10. SG - don't know why because this is the SG for torque
19. PCO
20 /PC0
33 PA0
34 /PA0
35 /PB0
36 /PB0
40 Servo ON input (so input so what the 7i77 outputs to tell it to get ready?)
47 PS0 Pulse- Signal Output
I get the reference voltage would be connected to the TB5 AOUT on the 7i77 with the SG for it.
My question is do I do anything with the encoder TB3 connection on the 7i77?
Or do I connect all these?
QA0 to PA0
/QA0 to /PA0 (same with the
IDX0 to PC0
/IDX0 to /PC0
+5V - don't think so because have that on the
And where does the PSO go?
I realize this is very basic to you guys... but first time working with servos... and really don't want to fry them out with my stupidity.
Thank you so much for any kick in the right direction. More then willing to send $ to a Paypal account to take the family out for pizza and beverages if you send me an email to do that.
BTW: They are older Series II but doubt that matters.

You will also need to determine how the servo-on input works
(usually pulled high or grounded for servo-on)
These will be wired to the 7I77s enable outputs ( details depend on that the servo-on input requires)
Do you have a link to the drive manual?

For active high drive inputs you would ground pin 47 (input common)
Once this is done, you would wire a 7I77 ENA+ to 24V and the cooresponding ENA- to SI0 (drive pin 40 = servo-on)

OK those have nice digital I/O options so should be easy to interface.

OK: About to power on my servos but still worried I have something wrong. Would you be so kind as to review this for one drive to make sure I understand everything completely.? Before I throw the switch

TB5-2 ENA0+ To Field Power 24+ (Docs say From 7i77 though)
TB5-3 GRN Field power 24 -
TB5-4 AOUT0 NOT connected to anything?
Thanks again.

Edited, I would decouple the drives from linear axis on first power up in case of runaways

You say to put CN1.47 to Field power ground, but the docs call that pin out as +24VIN. Also the wiring from before was Blue rather than white.
also
From TBS-2 ENA0+ does this connect directly to the field power 24V + ? (In other words it doesn't connect to the drives at all?)

Actually, if you look at the table on page 2 , CN1.47 is labeled " Selectable input common (24V or 0V)"
so you can wire the common as +24V or 0V (Gnd)
If you wish, you can connect CN1.47 to +24V in which case the enable wiring would change to:
TB5-1 EN0A- Field power GND
TB5-2 ENA0+ 40 /S-ON
From TBS-2 ENA0+ does this connect directly to the field power 24V + ? (In other words it doesn't connect to the drives at all?)
No, it does not connect to the drive. (using the wiring with CN1.47 = Field power GND)
The current path in the original suggested wiring is +24V Field --> ENA+ --> ENA- --> CN1.40=/S-ON --> CN1.47 --> 0V= field common
so when the 7i77 enables the drive (connects ENA+ to ENA-) current flows along the path above
