Wonderful... I can probably just redo the kernel on the current install or would you just do a full re-install and redo the kernel then?

Does "ip a" show ipv6 disabled?

(Also while Todd is correct that a Preempt-RT kernel and the uspace version of LinuxCNC are
needed to run the 7I76E as a machine controller, you should be able to ping the card from any system)

Not sure. It isn't saying anything specifically about IPV6. Admittedly, I am not as good as I once was with the kernel. Been maintaining windows stuff at work for too long.

OK it now shows IV6 disabled (also NO-CARRIER, was the 7I76E off or disconnected?)

I can redo it NBD. But yes need to figure out the pinging issue. I will grab my phone and try and get a picture of my jumpers for you. I think I am reading the diagrams right but who knows.

See the pictures attached. Maybe you can make out the jumpers. Photography is not my strong point.

And apparently this forum hates pictures =P

Network setup for mesa cards:
- left click on the network manager on the bottom right side where the clock and volume is.
- choose "edit connections"
- double click on the network you want to edit ( usually "wired connection X")
- click on the "IPv4 settings" tab
- choose "manual" on the "method" drop down menu
- click on "add"
- write the address as 10.10.10.2 up to 10.10.10.9 ( never 10.10.10.1 or 10.10.10.10 )
- netmask should be set as 24 or 255.255.255.0
- gateway should always be 10.10.10.1
- additional DNS servers should be 10.10.10.1
Save, close, left click on the network manager and click on the "wired connection", it should take about 3 seconds to reconnect. Now open a terminal and do Ping 10.10.10.10, you should get normal reply form the Mesa card. If you do not get a reply, double check your settings.

>>> If you want to use another connection or a wireless connection for internet, you have to set up everything as above, and ONLY after having internet working edit the wired connection going to Mesa card again as follows:
- network manager>edit connections>wired connection X>IPv4 settings> ROUTES > just click on the "use this connection only for resources on its network"> OK>save>network manager>reconnect to that network.

My apologies for being away. Went out of town for the week and am just now getting back to this. Trying the exact settings above still did not work. 2 different linux computers, 3 different ethernet cords, and I went through my board and set every single jumper back to default (except w3).

Additionally I tried the 192.168.1.121 configuration (address 192.168.1.124, netmask 24, gateway 192.168.1.1, additional DNS 192.168.1.1) and nothing...

At this point I am wondering if my board is faulty because surely it should not be this hard.
