I am setting up a 7i96 and have gone thru the pncconf and made a setup. When I launch my setup it fails to load and the debug error states "cant find module 'hm2_eth'. What do I need to get the module loaded?

You will need the preempt-RT version of Linuxcnc for ethernet, not the RTAI version.
It is on the diwnloads page as Stretch, not Wheezy.

now i am at a loss. What am i missing?
I installed a version of strech and upgraded to master rt, with uname -a i get
Linux CNC 4.9.0-11-rt-686-pae #1 SMP PREEMPT RT Debian 4.9.189-3 (2019-09-02) i686 GNU/Linux.
in Pncconf i no longer have and option of Gmocappy for the Gui and the big thing is there is no option for the 7i96 in the card options. Any Ideas?

You need to install the LinuxCNC 2.8 for 7I96 support (and 2.9 is better)
(and you need the uspace version of LinuxCNC)

If I wasn't lost I would not know where I am at.
And I know right where I am.
Lost as can be.
I cant seem to get it correct in the package manager to get it to install.
