Mesa 7I76e - Two power supplies or one?

I noticed the 7I76e can be powered using both 24v and 5v ... is that recommended? I have it powered using 5v only at the moment, nothing besides my PC connected. Just curious what the normal setup is? I will be using this card for a plasma table.

you need 5v and 24v PS. The following link contains wiring diagrams that might help you.

You can use 5V and 24V or a single 24V supply.

There is also the option of using separate field and FPGA logic power
if you want isolation between the FPGA section and the field I/O section

While its not necessary, I run seperate 5V and 24V power supplies. I think next time, I would just use the 24V power supply.
I would just add 24V field power to what you have now. You don't need a big power supply. Around 2 amps is fine.

Ok, I will add 24V ... there is a jumper I need to change to run both 5v and 24v, at least I am pretty sure I read that somewhere. I will check the manual.

If using 24v only, should I use the same 24v PS to provide power to the TB1 field power AND TB3? Or do I need to somehow separate that incoming power? Or have it coming from two sources?

Normally I would just use one power supply unless you want the field

Ok, but does the one power supply need to connect at both TB1 and TB3? The way that the 'Anschluss' drawing shows? Or am I misreading the schematic? Relevant portion attached.

Yes you would need to connect to TB1 (Field Power) and TB3 (unregulated logic power for the FPGA side)
