Anilam with 7i97

I'm not sure how different the 3000M is from the 1100M but I basically tossed out everything but the drives and power supply and use a 5i25 and 7i77 (7i92's were not available then). IIRC the drives had to have the enable pin grounded to enable them, so I use a relay for that.

This was from BigJohnT in another forum post and I was wondering if someone could go a little more in depth about "IIRC the drives had to have the enable pin grounded to enable them, so I use a relay for that." 
I am at this specific point on my setup which is an Anilam 3000M but with a Mesa 7i97 board. 

   

Do you know what the pin was on yours that you had to enable?

By drive do you mean my amplifier?

This is how I have it wired up right now. Thats my amplifier. Its hard to get a picture to see it but thats it.

oh, well I guess I was assuming the inhibit was just another word for enable. Im guessing that inhibit is something that has to happen along with enabling maybe? Also I have my encoders set up single and because I thought that is how the amplifier had it but I read that my amp can be used for differential as well. Do you suppose that it matters much whether I run my stuff single or differential ended?
Oh I thanks for all the help man. Your one of the only people I have seen on this forum who also has done a conversion from an old Anilam system. Tough to find much on it.
