7i76E Stock ? was created by my1987toyota
I have 2 machines that I would like to upgrade from the 7i96 to the more native I/O 7i76e card, however the 7i76e has been out of stock for
a while. Are these cards in redesign because of the irritating chip shortage? If not any idea when they will be available again? Sorry PCW and JT
I know this is kind of a loaded question. I work in the electronics industry as well and know just how much of a pain the shortage has been.
The company I work for has had to redesign a few boards because of it.

No, we had to re-spin the card with new power supply chips
(since the old PS chips have a 99 week lead time)
and the new 5V regulator has even better specs.
We are only able to build a limited qty these because our assembly
house found some of our FPGA chips in leftover stock.
(These FPGA chips currently sell for more than the 7I76E card!)
We are working on a improved 7I76E replacement using a new FPGA chip,
but this is still months away.

Thank you PCW. I will have to figure out a stop gap until then. The 99 week order time and over inflated chip prices sounds all to familiar.
Not to mention the counterfeit chips that have flooded the market this year.

Like JT said, we will have some 7I76E's (~150) in a couple weeks but these will not last long

7I77s are available
We do have a couple 7I92s left
We have done a re-spin of the 7I92 but its still in the proto stage
A (overkill) option is a 7I96S+7I77 (this requires LinuxCNC 2.9)
