I just cannot see it happening, if you read the posts from cncdrive they would not be looking at linuxcnc but developing their own from end to use their )buffered) motion controller.

they don't like the RT os side of linuxcnc

also in my opinion they are using it as a bit of a cash cow as it sells its self and they don't really need to develop it any further.  the development releases have all slowed to a trickle, there is talk about a turn version in the pipeline (now they have a lathe to test with).

it's kind of bug fix only with a bit of plate spinning in my opinion.  take a look at the development release dates, last one was nearly 12m ago, sure the next one is supposed to be a big one with turn, but it's slowed right down from what it was
