I certainly don't mind if you share your code, I'm impressed that you

hahaha thanks, that's quite a compliment. There was enough comments to get the idea on what was going on.
It took a while and I really didn't want to bother you too much, the worse bit was the errant "ret" whilst setting up the mpdd records (copy & paste can be an enemy).
To tell the truth it's some impressive code considering the limited instruction set.
Took me back to the 80's when I was a teenager banging away on a little Z80 system, tho there was no assembler, everything was done by looking up opcode => hexcodes and poking into memory, and saving on cassette tape.
Even my first windows programming was in assembly.
