I had an configuration that almost worked with the 5i20 and a 7i33 but I found that one of the pins on the 7i33 was stuck high so I ordered what looked like the next closest model available. I plugged in the new card started LinuxCNC and nothing seemed broken so I tried using the enable and encoder input pins with my current configuration and that didn't seem to be working. where do i begin looking to figure this out?do I need a different bit file?or is it a different HAL configuration?

this is my dmesg output below.

Ok the first thing needed is firmware for the 5I20 that supports the 7I36
(the 7I36 has a very different pinout than the 7I33)
I can build this when I get a chance.

Supporting the 7I36 isolated inputs and encoder signal drive detection may
be a bit awkward unless you have upgraded LinuxCNC to at least version 2.8.4
as these features use the inm firmware module which is not supported by earlier
LinuxCNC versions.

Wow thanks!
I should upgrade my version anyways (I'm on EMC 2.3.2)
it looks like 2.9.3 is the most recent I'll upgrade to that.

Sorry it took so long, needed to update the older 5I20 source
to support the new inmux module
