Once I figured out that all the O-Rings and Quad Rings were available from McMaster - Carr I was on my way.

Here it is all apart. The fun part was getting the bearing housing off without messing up the bearings. Take your time with it and it will come off. Oh, and close the collet first as if you leave it open and the rings seal at all it will have pressure when you try and take it apart.

This is the inside of the bearing unit. There are no seals in here so after you open or close the collet the valve needs to be closed ie a three way valve. Mine for some reason had a two way valve so either one side or the other had air all the time so it leaked like a sieve...

This picture shows the valves built into the piston that hold the air pressure until air is applied to the opposite side.

All back together. You have to install the first bearing all the way to the shoulder by gently tapping on the inner race till snug then install the rest of the bearing unit by tapping on the outer bearing inner race GENTLY. It will go...

the pictures have disappeared from this thread. Any chance there is a copy of them around anywhere? Planning a mod to this collet closer and some pics would sure help.

Oh well, it was worth a shot to ask, just in case you had copys of the pics floating around. Thanks for looking into it.

Did you ever get the air leakage rate under control?
