On a long shot I looked at my old photobucket account and found the photos.

The collet closer leaks air when open and I just unplug the hose if it will be open long. The CHNC uses a lot of air...

Hi there Big John T, I am having the same issue with my CHNC 1, and am curious if you may have gotten the dash numbers reversed in the first two o-rings you posted. When I search McMaster for 1879T23, I pull it up with a dash of 016 and when I look up the 9452k18, I get a dash of 010.

Do you still have these rings sitting around? I realize I'm responding to an 11 year old thread and am guessing you've tossed them or given them away by now, lol.

Actually I still have the O-Rings.However the labels have all faded...

I would guess that the part numbers are correct however I do have slight dyslexia so number reversal is possible.

I can spare some of most of them...

Thank you so much for the offer! But I've already ordered and received everything I need. Putting them on today. I'll update if everything fits or not, so future users/searchers can see if the dash numbers were reversed.

Alright... HOW ON EARTH did you get the bearing housing off?!?!? did you use some kind of puller?

I'm assuming I remove the bracket holding the closer to the... collet holder tube? I don't know what it's called. And then I remove the spanner nut at the back of the valve assembly. But the spanner nut just spins the closer. I tried putting a strap wrench on the closer but I can't get the spanner nut to budge. After the spanner nut is off, I assume I disconnect the air lines and then gently deadblow the whole assembly off the tube?

IIRC the collet closer just slides out rather easy once you loosen the 4 screws that hold the collet closer to the spindle then rotate the top a bit to you and the whole assembly slides out of the spindle. Or I have no idea what your asking...
