The 5i25 has a second header. You can add a 7i74 to that and have eight more smart-serial cards. That should be plenty.

more money haha. well, more time really. from memory it takes a good week or more to get anything from him IF he has it on had. my 7i76 took months.

No, it has a set of switch-to-ground outputs and 24V positive voltage inputs.

No, that's wrong. Sorry.

I think I have seen positive-voltage input versions.

Actually... This is a job for the ULN2003, and those are cheap. (25p)

that interesting. but I'm slightly confused (as always haha)

so, on one of those, id connect "IN1" to the mesa output. "GND" to the mesa field ground. "OUT1" to the minus terminal of the relay, and then common to the 24 ground of the machine (also the same 24 ground that's connected to field io on the mesa)

that's seems... right? looking at the diodes in their block diagram anyway.

with 7 channels, I could basically patch this into my cable and shrink wrap it. and add one or 2 more as needed for other relays in future.

also 75 cents at mouser with next day delivery. woo.

I have a tube of them, but that's no help for you.

You could have tried Amazon or eBay:
