As it turns out the fellow that started this thread tried to use Mach but never could get it to work.

Actually, I emailed him and he now has it working nicely on Mach3.
I think he had to buy quite a lot of different hardware.
He was told by guys on the Mach forums that the conversion would take 2 weeks. I told him that for a LinuxCNC conversion (from scratch, first conversion) he should expect it to take 3 months.
So he went with Mach….
It took a year.
