Cam program for lathe was created by dctrytsman
I have recently finished retrofitting a Mazak qt20 lathe with Linuxcnc and I am looking for a good cam program to use with it. I have tried Mastercam ,but I cant find a post processor that works with Linuxcnc for lathes . The one on the wiki seems to only work for milling machines .Does anyone know how to get Mastercam to work ,or is there another program that works well with Linuxcnc ? Thanks

There should be a simple CAM included with LinuxCNC made by AndyPugh, have a look here as this is the latest topic discussing this

The last post contains a link to the solution, in case you also bump into the issue of play button being hidden.

Thanks for the help.
Autodesk Cam has an up to date Linuxcnc turning post that seems to be working well. I think it also works with Fusion 360 and HSMWORKS. Its available to download on their website.

here you go
with this post processor
park the carriage where you want the toolchange to occur, then call g28.1 in the mdi, that will set the machine absolute co-ordinates. then the post will call g28 and take the carriage to the g28 location for tool changes.
