Moving file to Realtime folder

Hello, I'm a new user of linux and emc2 and am having some difficulty with compiling my own kinematics file. I have followd all the steps that I have seen in various guides but when I come to try and run me config it alerts me that my 3 kins file can not be found in the appropriate realtime folder folder, can anyone help me rectify this? any help would be great
