Programming a Pyramid Tube Bender

Hello everyone,

I am interested in programming a Pyramid Type Tube Bender.
The rollers are configured as a pyramid with the two bottom rollers providing the drive for the tube
The top roller gives the bending.

I cannot use the traditional G Codes, at least I don't think so.

Can I use EMC2 to program this type of operation or do I have to program in C or Python ?

Thanks

I don't see why you can't use G code to program it. I'd assume you would have one rotary axis (the drive rollers) and one linear axis (the bending roller). You would just have to work out a scale that made sense to you for each one.

I don't have a clear mental image of the machine, but perhaps Z for tube-feed and X for bend radius would be appropriate.

I assume he is talking about a CNC version of this .

Pity it's not one of these

Thanks everybody,

After your post I thought a little more about it.

G-Codes could be used.

I will explore further. Its two axes, I will work out the scaling or split the profile into intervals top get the estimated y or z movement.

Thanks again
