Deckel to EMC was created by marcel
Hi All,

I am converting a DECKEL CNC mill to EMC.
I’m using the MESA cards and fitted AMT-2 encoders to the motors.
The amplifiers are from SIEMENS and it’s a brushed DC system.
I don’t understand the + - 10V that’s making the motors turn
I have four input wires going to the each amplifier a common earth a green and a yellow wire that came from the old controller and a wire from a relay. On the MESA card you only have the one AOUT pin but I have two wires, how does the +- 10V work does it change its polarity and wouldn’t you need two wires for any voltage circuit? Where do you guys think I should connect the green and yellow wires?

Regards
Marcel

it's normal for the analog voltage to reverse polarity , with reference to it's analog ground .
you do not mention the model of amplifier you have so it is difficult to advise more .
the other wires you mention could be for a number of uses , including switching off the amp when limits are hit etc and also feedback from the servo motor

give more information on your amplifiers ( model number etc ) and i am sure someone will be able to advise further

Hi cncbacher,

I found these numbers on a sticker by the amplifiers
Simoreg-T
MLFB-6RA.4013-5BA01
FABR NR A 1061313
AUSG 30/60A 200V-

This number came from a card
6RA4001-2AA07

The ground on my amplifiers is a common ground that’s connected to all the amplifiers,
I don’t think it could change polarity.
Is the GND terminal on the MESA board just a ground or is it the ground for the +-10V (AOUT terminal)?

The gnd pin adjacent to the analog out pin on the 7I33/7I48 is the analog out gnd
This is common with system gnd
