Ubuntu Update

I was updating my machine today and I noticed that I was being prompted to down load Ubuntu 12.04.1. Is there a problem doing this, if I recall there was an issue with updating before.

Currently the latest rtai kernel is 2.6.32-132-rtai, this is a rtai version of the kernel from Ubuntu 10.04.

If you 'upgrade' Ubuntu you will lose the ability to run Linuxcnc. I think 12.04 runs a 3.xxxx kernel and there are no rtai versions of that readily available at present.

There is a simulator package that runs on 12.04, if this is just a house computer and you want to write and test code on it only.

Available in i386 and AMDx64

Unless you have hardware that will not run properly with 10.04 (lot of new audio, LAN and wireless chips were not supported until 3.xx kernels) stick with that.

I was looking at what my version is : 2.6.32-122-rtai, yours must be a newer version.

No that's just a typo, fingers too big for the keys probably!

You have the correct kernel version, same as mine
