Hi
You will have to explain. There is no version 2.51, the latest version is 2.5.1, which it appears you have installed.
Yet you appear to be trying to install the same version, despite saying you want an earlier one?
regards

Hi
It is the same as any other package
Go into Synaptic package manager, input 'linuxcnc' in the search box.
It will then show you all the matching packages with that string in their names.
Select the 'linuxcnc' package and it will show installed version as 2.5.1
Do Ctrl-E to select Force Version and select 2.5.0 from the drop down and confirm.
Then click on Apply and 2.5.1 will be removed and 2.5.0 installed.
The big question is WHY?
