Anyone ever play with any of these?

To read their add they would seem to be the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Closed loop step motor systems have been around for a while.
They basically use the stepmotor as a 2 phase ac servo
Advantages are servo like cool operation, cant lose steps
low RPM (step motor speed ranges so may eliminate a gear/belt stepdown)
Disadvantages are limited size, high inertia, poor efficiency, and
more complicated drive circuitry compared to normal 3 phase AC servos
