Hi,

I'm busy with a milling machine, with a 5i20, P2-7i29, P3-7i33, P4-7i37,

my 7i37 works perfect, but I can't seem to pick up my encoder signals on the 7i29, or the 7i33. I open linuxcnc, and because I was struggling with this, I hooked up a mpg to the encoder input of 1 7i29, on encoder03, to test, but no success. I made sure all jumpers is in correct positions, all good. I did the configuration in pncconfig, and am sure all is good. Also dmesg in terminal, and my connections look good. my ribbon cables is connected right, and when I turn the motor by hand, I can see the encoder signals is coming through on the 7i29, via cr1, cr2, cr3, cr4.

any suggestions? please?

what firmware are you using? It should probably be SVST4_8 or SVST8_4
Also make sure the 7I29 is jumpered to be channels 0 and 1 instead of 2 and 3

Ok. A bit late to reply on this. I realised that time that I had my encoder connections incorrect. The machine has been running for about 3 months now... thanks for the suggestions in anycase.
