real time error

Is there any way to know what actually caused a real time error? I suspect a slow response time on my I/O card (running in EPP mode from built in EPP port) may be causing it. But since I can't be sure, and I can't reliably predict when it will happen, I am at a loss for chasing this down.
My numbers are good, and it will run very happy until I turn my spindle on, then it will crap out.
In the mean time, I am going to start it up and just let it sit with no spindle to prove this part to myself.
BTW, my spindle is interrupt driven as is the EPP comms, so thats why I am thinking maybe there is a conflict in timing here.

Hi
There are no diagnostic error messages unfortunately.
The best way is usually to use the latency test in the testsuite, whilst doing different tasks to try to isolate the cause.
see www.linuxcnc.org/index.php/english/forum...me-latency-solutions for details
If your mill can have the spindle activated without linuxcnc running all well and good, but you probably can't run a latency test (even this one) and linuxcnc together.
regards
