New latency figures in custom configuration? was created by SvenH
I am changing computers.
The new one has better latency figures than the older one.
What is the best way/easiest to incorporate the latency figures in my custom .ini files?
Should I try to set up a new configuration from scratch and then copy data from the new configuration in to the custom ones?
And what data is that?

Hi
A guide to the maths is here
wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Tweaki...ftwareStepGeneration
If you don't want to be bothered with that, then yes just put the figures into a new stepconf config and copy the resulting figures from
[EMCMOT]
......
BASE_PERIOD =
SERVO_PERIOD=
TRAJ_PERIOD=
In reality it is unlikely that the last 2 will be changed
The stepconf calculation should be reasonable, but is always capable of fine tuning
regards

Thanks!
I'll try and work with that later today.
