Motor Jerking on Power Up Casuing Tracking Error was created by fbx109
Hello I am using a Mesa 7i77 card to control an analog drive. I have a PID controllor for the drive, but everytime I powerup the drive in linuxcnc, the drive jerks. The jerk cause a tracking error and linuxcnc halts.

the analog drive needs to "initialize" the motor? it occurs only on the first run of linuxcnc? what kind of analog drive are you using?

It might be possible to power up the drive before turning LinuxCNC on. ie, turn on the drives on exiting e-stop (at which point LinuxCNC does not track following error).

Hey all,
I think the problem was that my PID was not tuned properly. Once I tuned it it worked correctly. The values for P, I, and D were missing in the INI file, probably causing garbage values for the PID loop.
Thanks again for all the help.
